Occupational Health Nurse-OxyChem

1. Responsible for providing actionable information to management and to employees on both work and personal health risks, and mitigation strategies.
2. Form a functioning work group or process where IH, management, employees and medical anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control stressors in the workplace.
3. Using Corporate HESP’s, write, maintain and implement medical procedures that are standardized across Houston Operations and integrated with industrial hygiene procedures.
4. Schedule and complete all medical surveillance, biological monitoring & other examinations per OSHA Standards and as required by HESP’s, and Oxy procedures in a standard manner across Houston Operations.
5. Maintain one record standard across Houston Operations for complete, accurate, detailed medical records according to OCC HESP on medical records.
6. Implement one set of medical protocols across Houston Operations, in conjunction with Site Medical Director.
7. Implement one set of Emergency Response medical protocols in conjunction with HESS and Site Medical Director.
8. Responsible for understanding output of industrial hygiene exposure assessments to identify and maintain medical surveillance requirements for each employee. This requires interaction with employees, IH, and management to take exposure assessments and create a listing by employee of all medical fitness for duty requirements, surveillance requirements, collection of exposure assessments and PPE requirements.
9. Assist with health education and training or dissemination of information to employees as necessary for compliance with OSHA Standards or other regulations.
10. Continue personal professional education and maintain necessary certifications and license.
11. Support the Process Safety and Risk Management goals and objectives. Particpate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction activities as requested. Look for opportunities to be the 'fresh set of eyes' in this area.
12. Responsible for medical implementation of short-term disability and return towork program; providing support to employees during illness to facilitate their return to work.

Registered nursing degree with 3 years post graduation experience in RN practice.

Active State of Texas License, Audiometric Certification, DOT Drug and Breath Alcohol Collection Certification, Pulmonary Function Testing Certification, Health Care Provider BLS and AED Certification, and Occupational Health Nurse Certification.
