NETWORK SYSTEMS ENGINEER – DATACENTER LAN SWITCH EXPERT

 

Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society, has an immediate opening in its Information Technology division for a Network Systems Engineer.  The candidate will ensure network integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.  Monitors and tunes the network to achieve optimum performance levels.  Makes and decides on recommendations’ regarding forecasts, configurations, and budgets for network hardware and software systems.  Serves as a hands-on network expert and project leader in managing all phases of large and complex projects.  This includes planning, estimating resources and dates, assigning and tracking tasks, progress reporting, and meeting project schedules within budget.

 

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, with at least 5 years of experience in data engineering.  Experience with LAN/WAN Hardware and Protocols, NAT, VPN, CISCO Routers and Switches, Extreme Network Switches, Core Layer Chassis High Availability and Failover, Distribution Layer LAN Stacks, CSS Content Switches, F5 Load Balancing.  IPv6 architecture and configuration is desired.  Industry Certifications - CCNP, CCIE, etc are also desired.  Excellent verbal, written communications and project management skills are required.
