Microbiology Lab Technician !

Lab Support - A Division of On Assignment has an immediate opening with one of our top clients in Greensboro, NC.  Interviews will be held next week and a start date will be no later than Monday, August 4th.  Pay is based on experience and ranges from $12 to $16/ hour.  Experience working in a microbiology lab is preferred and media prep experience is MANDATORY.Please submit resumes to Raleigh@labsupport.com AND contact Marko Stimpfel at 919-319-9950.Contractor functions needed in Micro lab: 1 Media preparation--make, dispense, perform quality control, and pH 2 Dishwashing--overal maintenance of dishwasher, loading and unloading 3 Autoclave usage--to include quality control and maintenance 4 Omnispense usage while dispensing media 5 Re-stocking supplies in all rooms 6 Pick up supplies in the warehouse 7 Empty sample shelves, dump products in sink and dispose sensitive waste 8 Pour up pre-poured plates 9 Take daily temperatures 10 Do daily calibrations for balances, pH meter, Omnispense 11 Do other calibrations, maintenance, cleaning, on the following equipment: water baths, autoclave, refrigerators and incubators 12 Prepare daily organisms (working with live cultures) 13 Other non-skilled activities, such as shredding, assisting with logbook prep (making copies, numbering pages, etc) 14 General upkeep and cleaning of lab benches, sinks, etc. Skills needed: 1 Math skills (addition, substraction, multiplication, division, use of a calculator) 2 Basic computer skills (to utilize our labeling system 3 Must be able to interpret written methods and procedures to make media and operate lab equipment 4 Must be able to write clearly and legibly in documentation. 5 Must be able to lift lbs.and stand for long periods of time. 6 Good communication skills---work well with others 7 Prior lab experience and/or being a quick learner/self-starter is a plus Contact Name: Marko Stimpfel Contact Email: Apply by Email Company:  Lab Support, a division of On Assignment Salary:  12.00 - 16.00 USD /hour Job Status:  Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Category:  Biotech/R&D/Science Work Experience:  1+ to 2 Years Career Level: Entry Level Education:  Associate Degree Apply Now!
