GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Materials Associate ensures that raw materials and resin are accessible and ready for production, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Position may assist Shipping Department as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain process order(s) and ensure that operators have necessary raw materials from storage area
- Obtain documentation for outgoing shipments and approval labels for all incoming raw materials
- Ensure forklifts are in safe operating condition
- Assist in the Shipping Department and on the mixers as needed. Unload or load trucks as required
- Assist Operators with general duties such as skidding-up materials and labeling
- Clean all assigned totes and ensures they are ready for weekly production. Replace tote liners as required
- May attend to non-conforming materials by completing metal tags obtained from lab, attaching it to the appropriate drum/pail and placing it in the assigned area
- Stock all approved materials following FIFO procedures
- Process transfers to other plants
- Ensure resin bags are accessible and available for production. Take resin samples from each type of incoming resin as necessary
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, & documents
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
- May be requested to handle the accumulation, disposal and transportation of hazardous waste. If required to do so, must participate in pre-requisite training in order to meet RCRA waste management requirements
- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency plus 1 year of related materials experience
- Must maintain Company approved Fork Lift Operator's Licenses. This may include one or more different types of fork lifts
- Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatula, barrel cart, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, and mixer/blender machinery and computer equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine
- Occasionally required to climb or balance
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and frequently move more than 250 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area
- Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock, to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and explosives
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Frequently exposed to vibration. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
