Marketing Analyst

 

 

GenTek Inc is a technology-driven manufacturer of performance chemicals and industrial components.  We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Marketing Analyst for our General Chemical LLC - Performance Products Chemicals Division located in Parsippany, NJ.  In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing industry trends to positions for the Sulfur Business Unit to take advantage of market opportunities.  The position also is responsible for managing key accounts, developing strategic plans, identifying account details, competitor profiles, and target opportunities.

 Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.        Conduct financial, marketing and sales analyses to determine business opportunities, methods of obtaining business and plan for servicing accounts.

2.        Support in establishing and maintaining key account contacts, requiring phone and in-person calls.

3.        Assist in preparing strategic plans and detailed target opportunities.  Determine appropriate distribution and logistics requirements.

4.        Conduct financial analysis of business unit and assist in forecasting.

5.        Evaluate existing pricing structures and formulate product pricing.

6.        Coordinate with Manufacturing, Logistics, and Customer Service to develop production schedules, inventory plans, and to handle customer inquiries.

7.        Conduct marketing/industry research in new business and product development, requiring phone or in‑person calls.

8.        Prepare periodic reports for business area evaluation as assigned by Director of Sales and Marketing.

9.        Evaluate general market trends, including, but not limited to, pricing, new products, import and export, with necessary business unit responsive actions.

10.     Assist in marketing communication including product brochures and trade show preparation.

11.     Assist in the evaluation of new market opportunities in terms of products, applications, service and geography.

12.     Prepare reports and special project assignments as assigned by Director of Sales and Marketing.

Position Requirements

 

-  Requires a technical Bachelor of Science degree, MBA desired.

-  One (1) to three (3) years relevant work experience, preferably in a related industry.  

-  Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative marketing data analysis, finance and accounting.

-  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-  Periodic or occasional travel of approximately 10-25% as needed.
