That same growth has now created the following opportunity to join our close-knit corporate headquarters team. Manager, Business Development- SG-08-096Lakewood, CO Primary Purpose The Manager of Business Development will be part of a business development team dedicated to driving the earnings of SourceGas through 1) the acquisition of lucrative gas distribution assets and/or companies, 2) effectively exploiting existing assets through increased commercial utilization or expansion of such, 3) negotiating third party, off-system transportation contracts. This position may make recommendations and presentations to the executive leadership of SourceGas in addition to the SourceGas Board of Directors.  Job ResponsibilitiesProactively identify and pursue new business opportunities for the SourceGas companies. Lead and perform due diligence efforts for acquisition targets. Determine enterprise values for potential acquisitions of assets and/or companies. Negotiate or assist in negotiating asset and stock purchase/sale agreements. Proactively pursue, negotiate, and manage value-added gas transportation contracts. Enhance earnings of existing asset base including gas storage and gas gathering systems via effective commercial negotiations with third parties. Negotiate new facility and interconnect agreements. Negotiate gas transportation discount rates in situations regarding system by-pass. Coordinate multi-discipline personnel efforts and departments for development of various expansion projects designed to generate incremental earnings. Act as liaison between operations personnel and producer/shipper customers. Ensure appropriate company personnel are informed of new contracts (e.g. field operations, measurement, accounting, billing, shipper services). Reply to customer inquiries regarding contract terms and conditions.

Educational RequirementsUndergraduate degree in business administration, engineering, or related discipline. A minimum of 5 to 8 years direct work experience in mergers and acquisitions, gas transportation, gas gathering, and gas storage is strongly preferred.

Job RequirementsMust be a self-starter in the area of natural gas business development. Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to close value-added deals. Ability to discover and negotiate asset and enterprise opportunities that will optimize earnings. Ability to calculate and utilize various enterprise valuation methods such as discounted cash flow; internal rate of return and net present value, precedent transaction multiples. Must have solid understanding of gas transportation, gathering, and storage transactions in order to provide creative earnings-driven solutions to gas transportation and related opportunities. Conduct and lead due diligence efforts. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers to provide superior customer satisfaction. Maintain and build key relationships with others in the Gas Industry. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with a variety of individuals at all levels, both internally and externally. Basic proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to perform the required duties with little or no direct supervision. Strong ability to prioritize work as needed. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license with driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers. Occasional travel. Will be required to carry company-provided cell phone and available to work non-standard working hours.

Preferred Experience, Skills and KnowledgeKnowledge of Gas Utility regulatory schemes – rate base, allowed rates of return, and components that comprise such. MBA is a plus.
