Instrument / Controls / Automation Technician Supervisor

We are a growing electrical contractor specializing in industrial maintenance.  We currently have openings for an experienced instrumentation/control technician and supervisor on our automation team.  We are a suburban Chicago business with our instrumentation/controls group centered in the Bedford Park, Illinois area.

Instrumentation Technician Qualifications:

·  Candidate must have strong trouble shooting skills, and repair various process control systems including single loop stand alone, PLC controlled, and DCS controlled loops.

·  Able to effect repairs on process control equipment. Understand the principle of operation of process control measurements including pressure level, flow, temperature and analytical measurements.

·  Able to identify, test, repair, or install elements used in process control including, pressure level, temperature, and flow transmitters, pressure switches, valves, actuators, chart recorders, signal conditioners (I/P), etc.

·  Able to identify, select and use calibration equipment, to set-up, calibrate, or adjust equipment if directed to do so.

·  Able to measure, cut and bend tubing if required.

·  Ability to work overtime and off-shift as projects demand.

·  Knowledge of National Electric Code.

·  Excellent Troubleshooting skills.

·  Superior customer service/interpersonal skills.

·  Must be detail oriented and highly organized.

·  The ability to work independently within teamwork culture.


Preferred experience / attributes:

·  Experience working in industrial settings (refinery, printing plant, mill, steel service centers, etc.).

·  Mechanical aptitude.
