Infrastructure Technology Analyst - Data Mining and Analysis - 08002421
**This is a one-year Employment Contract position that includes a very comprehensive benefit plan (medical, dental, vision, and bonus program eligibility) Employment Contract could extend beyond one year or could possibly be converted to regular status. Employment Contract positions are on the SDG&E pay roll and are not third party contractors** This position provides data mining, data analysis, scripting, report development and user training and support. Also performs system administration and configuration support for IT Service Desk and Service Catalog systems. IT Infrastructure Technology supports business operations including electric system protection, gas pipeline operations, supervisory control, telemetry, customer service call centers, and dispatch functions for electric and gas operations. The highest system quality, reliability, and availability is essential to avoid impact to revenue activities, customer satisfaction, and safety. Responsibilities / Accountabilities:Compile data requirements and develop reporting using complex queries from multiple data sources and systems. Work with clients to understand and document information requirements, and integrate into the data and object models. Utilize scripting where necessary to obtain data such as gathering computer elements on devices attached to the network. Work with individuals to develop reports which will monitor performance and assist in a variety of business decisions. Train users on running reports and provide support as necessary. Provides analytical and implementation expertise for technology components that are associated with the support for the development and integration of business solutions. Assist in providing system administration and support for service desk and service catalog systems on CA Unicenter R11. Responsible for data warehouse including structure and data. Provide system configuration support. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to creatively define/refine reporting requests and provide the business with required information Experience with query and reporting tools (Microsoft Access, Crystal, Excel) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret results of query analysis Experience with VBScript, SMS, and possibly WMI Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Creative problem solver with excellent trouble-shooting skills Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentDegrees / Certifications / License / Experiences: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related discipline or equivalent working experience 4+ years experience with advanced functions of Microsoft Access, and Excel 2+ years of experience with data manipulation and data analysis activities in SQL database CA UniCenter administration experience desired
