Industrial Firefighter EMT / Driver-Operator (Lateral Entry)
Industrial Emergency Services LLC (IES) is seeking Firefighter EMT / Driver-Operators for its rapidly expanding Louisiana Operations. IES provides comprehensive emergency response and related support services to the refining, chemical, high-hazard, and critical infrastructure industries. IES is an “all-hazards response organization” and as such, IES Industrial Firefighters respond to a wide variety of emergency incidents. Candidates will be assigned to work a 24/48 shift schedule at IES’ client facilities located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Applicants must have training and experience equal to NFPA 1081 (Firefighter) and NFPA 1002 (Driver Operator) professional qualifications. Candidates must provide evidence of meeting these NFPA standards, such as Pro-Board Certification. Additionally, candidates must have a current state EMT-B license eligible for reciprocity in Louisiana, or have a current EMT-Basic certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Candidates must either hold a current Class B CDL, or be licensable for a Louisiana Class B CDL upon employment.
Additional training, experience, and certification in Hazardous Materials, Confined Space & High Angle Technical Rescue, Refining & Petrochemical Firefighting, and Marine Firefighting is desirable, as is college level coursework in Fire Science. Firefighters with prior military experience are encouraged to apply.
Upon review of the candidate’s credentials, IES may offer employment as a Firefighter Trainee ($31,640.04 - $34,138.54), Firefighter 1 / Driver Operator ($37,454 – $42,905 annually) or as a Firefighter 2 / Driver Operator ($44,132 – $46,040 annually). IES also offers a very comprehensive benefits package. Candidates who do not meet all of the requirements for Firefighter 1 / Driver Operator or Firefighter 2 / Driver Operator may be eligible for future employment as an IES Firefighter Apprentice, ($31,640 – $34,138 annually) and are encouraged place an application on file.
