Founded in 1971 as a fine chemical manufacturer, Spectrum Laboratory Products, Inc. has grown into a customer focused global supplier of high quality chemicals, laboratory supplies and equipment.  All of our US facilities are ISO 9001-2000 certified. The California and New Jersey facilities are also FDA registered drug establishments and operate under cGMP.  Spectrum services customers in the industrial, government, life science, education, food and beverage, pharmacy, health and beauty as well as the generic and small to medium pharmaceutical markets. POSITION DESCRIPTION  Human Resources Generalist - Temp to HireSummary:Leading mid-size chemicals and laboratory products distributor/processor has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist for its corporate offices in Gardena, CA. Assists Human Resources Manager with recruitment, training, and workers’ compensation and safety administration.Duties and Responsibilities:1) Responsible for recruitment efforts including searching for qualified applicants, coordinating interviews, maintenance of job requisitions, and placing ads and internal announcements of positions.2) Responsible for the workers' compensation and safety administration including reporting of injuries, return-to-work program, acts a liaison for the employees, compliance with OSHA 300 Log, and Safety Committee coordination.3) Coordinates training. 4) Processes all pre-employment checks including background checks and random drug tests.5) Completes unemployment and employment verifications. 6) Processes invoices. 7) Maintains personnel files.8) Distribution of human resources mail.9) Acts as an additional back-up for General Office. 10) Additional projects and duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; and four to five years related experience and/or training as a Human Resources Generalist.  Manufacturing or distribution industry experience preferred. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Powerpoint experience preferred.  Oracle experience preferred.  One to two years experience with ADP payroll products. Language Skills:Bilingual-Spanish required.  POSITION INFORMATION Location:Gardena, CAStatus:  Full Time, Employee Spectrum has a solid stable history of success and creates an environment to encourage achievement in our employees.
