You can learn more about INVISTA by visiting www.INVISTACareers.com RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:• Provide process technical support to INVISTA’s global spandex facilities to improve yield, uptime and product quality in the areas of polymerization, fiber spinning, solvent recovery and aspiration gas systems. • Develop and leverage global best practices relative to asset design and configuration, process control strategies, operations philosophy etc.• Support/lead capital projects, raw material qualifications and the development and introduction of new product/process developments into new or existing assets. • Apply Root Cause Analysis, and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis processes, with a view to improving process safety and environmental performance, reliability, effectiveness and efficiency. • Provide input to asset design and equipment configuration; incorporating state of the art technologies and driving capital productivity.• Provide mentoring and training to site operations teams.EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:• Expert knowledge of chemical engineering concepts and technologies. Specific in depth experience with fiber and/or polymer production. • Demonstrated proficiency with regards to problem solving methodologies, e.g. Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, etc..• Proven track record of working with multi-functional teams (operations, sales, technical) to identify opportunities & issues and implement solutions. Strong process safety management experience, including leadership of Hazop/Process Hazards Analysis processes and general experience of risk assessment, characterization and management.• Strong personal initiative, with excellent quality of thought and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to generate and test hypotheses in order to establish cause and effect relationships. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to summarize, extract key points and present effectively and efficiently. Ability to relate to and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization in order to “sell� ideas and solutions.• Sound business acumen, proficient with common economic analyses and decision making tools ( NPV, IRR, ROCC etc. )EXPERIENCE & SKILLS PREFERRED:• Expertise and experience with spandex manufacturing process.• Manufacturing or Research & Development experience within the synthetic fiber industry.• Capital project leadership or active involvement in major capital projects (e.g. new site builds and/or startups, major capacity expansions, etc.)• Experience of working within a leveraged multi-site manufacturing environment, ideally working across geographical boundaries.EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.EDUCATION PREFERRED:Advanced degree and/or significant experience in Polymer Chemistry or Chemical/Mechanical Engineering.Must be willing and able to travel to all global regions as/when required and for the duration deemed necessary to effectively address business needs.
