Global Sourcing Leader - Freight

Position Overview:
Leader is responsible for all aspects of the Momentive Global buy for this category, which includes oversight of freight, transportation and warehousing. This role will be responsible for establishing the procurement strategy, defining areas of opportunity for cost out, implementing processes with the regional sourcing teams, and delivery of accurate forecasts and budgets. This individual will work closely with the Momentive Supply Chain teams to drive global solutions. Responsibilities include supplier quality, conformance, service levels and surety of supply. Key deliverables for this position are total cost control, annual deflation, supplier competition and reliability.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
· Execute initiatives to drive deflation and cost out for Momentive. Negotiate and achieve deflation targets and meet the required service levels.
· Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to deliver quality suppliers and meet operational objectives.
· Effectively interact across functional groups and regions and deliver results.
· Delivery of accurate forecasts and budgets.

Required Education and Professional Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree, 5+ years Sourcing/Industry experience. Excellent purchasing / procurement skills and experience.
· Demonstrated six sigma analytical & process skills

Required Work Experience:
· 5+ years sourcing experience
· Possess industry specific experience around transportation, distribution or warehousing
· Global sourcing experience
· Knowledge in negotiating contracts

Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
· Demonstrated negotiation and strong project management skills
· Demonstrated strategic thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
· Self-starter, excellent planning & organizational skills, with the ability to provide a quick response to changes in customer needs. Adaptability to changing business priorities & ability to perform under compressed time pressures.
