Formulation Scientist - Personal Care Research
TRI/Princeton, a non-profit research and educational organization, is currently seeking a key individual to enhance our research team. TRI remains a leader in the study of physical and chemical properties of synthetic materials, especially polymers, fibers, textiles, and porous materials as well as natural materials including hair and skin.
TRI has recently created a new position requiring the characterization of mixed (multi-phase) systems and the nature of their deposition onto the surface of hair and skin. This position requires a working knowledge of solution behavior, surfactants and emulsions as well as formulation expertise employing a wide range of other ingredients. In addition, the candidate should be versed in physical measurements to characterize such systems, to study the nature of their structure and deposition, as well as the interaction of such systems with the surfaces of hair and skin after deposition. Especially desired is a working knowledge of rheology, and/or surface measurements which are readily applicable to this study and related others at TRI.
The candidate is expected to develop their own in-depth research program within the guidelines of this study area as demonstrated by publications, appropriate scientific society interactions and especially the ability to attract funding from clients, member companies, government agencies and other sources. The ideal candidate should be prepared to contribute quickly as a result of having an appropriate MS or PHD degree and demonstrated experience of at least five years in such fields of study.
TRI/Princeton has practiced fundamental and applied research for over 75 years. Located on a serene setting along Lake Carnegie in Princeton, NJ, we offer our staff a creative and enriching environment in which to work and advance their scientific careers. Our existing staff welcomes the opportunity to explain their appealing workplace, the opportunities a position at TRI presents and their desire to continue to advance science the TRI way.
All candidates interested and qualified for this position should send a resume and cover letter. TRI/Princeton is an equal opportunity employer.
