Field Technician

Facility Information: Monument Plant is a DOT facility located 18 miles southwest of Hobbs, New Mexico. The facility is a 85 MMcfd cryogenic plant with amine treating and sulfur recovery. The field gathering system is approximately 700 miles in length, with three (3) field compressor stations. Responsible for overall operation of field gathering systems and / or pipeline systems associated with the transportation of natural gas, NGL, and condensate. Systems typically include:Field Compressor StationsField Condensate Separation and StorageGas and Liquid MeasurementOther Related Processes and Equipment

***************************************************************************************************************Perform routine and emergency startup/shutdown of all field equipmentMonitor pipeline conditions and recognizes flow restrictions in gas systems and take appropriate actionsResponsible for pipeline maintenance and monitoring including cathodic protection, corrosion monitoring, pipeline pigging, pressure maintenance, loss gas, line repairs, etc.Repair and calibrate metersInspect orifice plates and replace worn, damaged, or inappropriately sized plates based on current gas flowsTesting for O2 and H2S levels in gas streamsPerform pipeline locates and monitor work of contractors and pipeline companies working around company pipelines and right-of-waysEstimate and/ or calculate flow rates and total volumesParticipates in preparation of field operating procedures and the training of co-workers in a safe and efficient operation practicesObtain data from electronic flow measurement (EFM) devicesObtain gas and liquid analysis for testing

Miminum Essential QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAble to effectively communicate with field and other work groups, vendors, customers, general public and regulatory agenciesKnowledge of safety and environmental policies and practicesAbility to read and understand pipeline maps and all global positing system (GPS) functionsKeep effective liaison with gas supply groupKnowledge of and ability to utilize departmental budget and financial information to optimize operations (OPEX & CAPEX)Able to climb and lift or push a minimum of 75 pounds



Preferred QualificationsBasic job related computer knowledge (WIN CCU, etc.)Certified to fuse poly pipeUtilization of corporate initiatives (GIS, Maximo, E-Procurement, etc.)Commercial driver’s license and excellent driving record
