Environmental Health & Safety SpecialistDescription: Implement and maintain Safety and Environmental Programs in support of regulations and Company policies and procedures. A few Programs will include the following: Safety Programs, Chemical Management, Environmental Controls, Material Handling and Powered Industrial Lifts, Health, Personal Protective Equipment, Contractor Safety Program, Safety Committee, Record Keeping, Environmental Programs, Storm Water Management, Environmental and Safety Inspections, and Operating Permits.Hazard Communication Program: Serve as program coordinator and training resource.Review chemicals introduced into facility for hazards and compliance with regulations. HAZWOPER: Act as emergency response team coordinator. Oversee coordination of team training and procurement of response equipment and supplies. Oversee characterization, labeling and storage of non-hazardous and hazard waste streams.Coordinate training and inspection programs to ensure compliance with Company policies. Review and maintain a listing of TSDFs to ensure proper handling and disposal in compliance with regulations.Ensure manifest files and records are maintained to regulatory requirements. Assist facility with compliance with regulations. Develop and maintain Best Management Practices and the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans.Oversee facility inspections and maintain inspection records.Provide training and work with departments to eliminate sources of storm water pollution. Requirements: 3-5 years experience in Safety and Environmental Management.Working knowledge of Safety and Environmental Regulations.Safety and Environmental training.Strong communication skills.Desired certifications: ASP, CSP, CHMM or other industry accepted certification programs.Project management experience.OSHA 501 certified or completion of the 501 class within first year.Location: Ontario, CA Type: DIRECT Duration: Direct Pay Rate: DOE Contact: Volt Professional Search (Technical)Volt Workforce Solutions2411 N.
