Environmental, Health, & Safety Engineer to $65K +

NYSE Manufacturer & Distributor of foundry materials and Ceramic castings is seeks Environmental, Health, & Safety Engineer for their Bergen County plant. The EH&S Engineer provide expertise and assistance in creating and promoting a safe and environmentally sound workplace by planning, implementing, and coordinating the EH&S safety program. The EH&S engineer applies an advanced knowledge of industrial processes and human performance principles to reduce or eliminate the risk of injury.

 

Responsibilities:

*Oversee the development and implementation of the Company’s environmental, safety, health, industrial hygiene and fire safety programs to ensure compliance with Corporate standards as well as federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

*Reviews regulatory standards and rules and converts the same into Company policies and procedures.

*Inspects all Company facilities on a periodic basis

*Serves as liaison with the Corporate Health & Safety group

*Investigates all Safety & Environmental incidents and near misses

*Assists Managers and Supervisors in completing all Safety & Environmental reporting requirements

*Coordinates and participates in quarterly and annual environmental & safety compliance audits

*Coordinates tests to ascertain air quality, noise level, temperature, or radiation

*Interacts with outside vendors as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

*Provides EH&S advice and counsel to all levels of management and labor

 

Required:

*BS Degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related science field; PE registration preferred

*Formal OSHA training

*Minimum 3 years experience with EHS in a manufacturing environment

*Experience working with Federal, State and local regulatory agencies

*Excellent written, oral, and verbal skills; solid computer skills

*Bi-lingual Spanish
