Chemical Process/Design Engineers (Jr., Mid, and Senior): Chemical Engineers with industrial, petrochemical, or petroleum process engineering, chemical/process modeling, or process research particularly as it relates to synthetic/alternative fuels processes, coal-to-liquids processes, oil-shale processes, and oil-sands processes. Industrial experience desirable and a Ph. D. is preferred.

 Mechanical Process/Design Engineers (Jr., Mid, and Senior):  Mechanical Engineers with industrial, petrochemical, or petroleum process engineering, plant design and economics, or process research particularly as it relates to synthetic/alternative fuels processes, coal-to-liquids processes, oil-shale processes, and oil-sands processes. Industrial experience desirable.  Other work experience is acceptable provided there is demonstrable linkage to energy production, process design and plant modeling.

 PhD-level scientist in Electrochemistry/Electrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, or related discipline with experience in advanced electrochemical energy storage development projects.  This position supports advanced battery development and testing projects for electric and hybrid vehicle technology.  Research and/or applied development experience with advanced lithium ion electrode and electrolyte materials is desirable.

 Mechanical engineers with capabilities/experience relevant to bioenergy.  Specifically, a scientist or engineer with an advanced degree (PhD preferred) in mechanical engineering, structural mechanics, or a related discipline to perform lab-scale biomechanical modeling and testing of herbaceous and woody biomass. R&D experience in materials testing, solid mechanics, and structural dynamics is desired.  This position offers the opportunity for increasing levels of responsibility in the planning, executing, and proposing of bioenergy feedstock supply R&D.

 Agricultural scientists and biologists with capabilities/experience relevant to bioenergy.  Specifically, scientist with an advanced degree (PhD preferred) and experience in molecular biology from a ruminant microbiology, silage microbiology, or related perspective.  A research background in lignocellulosic processing microbiology and chemistry is desirable.  This position will perform bench and field-scale biomass storage and processing research as part of a multi-disciplinary team and also support proposal preparation.

 Scientist and engineer with expertise in woody crops and woody residues. Specifically, scientist or engineer with an advanced degree (PhD preferred) and experience in forestry and forest resource supply systems for the forest products industry (pulp and paper, lumber mills, etc.).  An understanding of and experience with lignocellulosic biorefining processes for converting woody biomass to ethanol and other products is desirable.  This position will support and perform both field and laboratory R&D.  The candidate selected will be expected to take on increasing levels of responsibility for planning, executing, and proposing bioenergy feedstock supply science and engineering work.
