Electrical/Mechanincal DCS Engineer (Chemical Operations)
My client produces specialty chemicals and ingredients vital in the manufacture of a large variety of products in our modern way of life. This is a unique organization of over 1000 people in multiple facilities working in an innovative, team-based structure that encourages and rewards teamwork, cooperation, quality control and individual participation in improving the way things are done. This world class organization is currently seeking an experienced DCS & Controls Engineer to join its Southern Louisiana operation. This is a full-time permanent position with a strong compensation package and excellent benefits. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Responsibilities ·Maintain control strategies which safely and reliably meet operating requirements of the facility.·Configure and test control system and operator interfaces. ·Insure ancillary equipment is properly maintained. ·Maintain DCS programming for long-term plant reliability. ·Commission system and train facility staff in proper system operation.·Maintain systems drawings and documentation.·Troubleshoot DCS and interfaces (including loop-tuning within DCS). ·Perform equipment inspections.·Develop repair specifications and procedures, schedule repairs, develop material specifications and provide required direction. Requirements ·3+ years work experience with Distributed Control System (DCS) configuration, networking, commissioning, and technical long-term support.·Recent process industry experience preferred (i.e. chemical, petro-chemical process).·Experience with MS Office products·SAP experience highly desirable.·Demonstrated leadership skills. ·Ability to work in a team environment. ·Excellent attention to detail and observation skills. ·Demonstrated trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
