Drilling Engineer 2

Boasting incredible and sustainable growth, the company seeks a Drilling Engineer 2 for their Western Division based in Oklahoma City, OK.
The Drilling Engineer 2 will provide drilling and completion engineering support to the operating divisions throughout the corporation via numerous high level projects that are intended to create value for the Corporation by coordinating and communicating technology transfer, lessons learned and optimal operating practices.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Corporate Drilling Engineering Supervisor in long term rig contracting and efficient rig scheduling efforts. Stay abreast of world-wide rig availability and pricing. Participate in contract negotiations as needed. Work on integrated, multi-discipline project teams to provide drilling engineering and operations support. Help to establish drilling performance and bench marking criteria for various drilling operations. Evaluate the bidding of goods and services for the drilling operations. Assist in determining the award of good and services to successful contractor. Take a lead role in helping to develop engineering and operating standards for drilling and completion operations for the corporation and operating divisions. Help in the continued development and monitoring of drilling training programs for all levels of drilling personnel. Assist in the evaluation and acquisition of new drilling personnel. Monitor the day-to-day operation activities of critical wells for both company operated and non-operated projects as requested. Assist in problem well analysis, support and engineering studies as needed. Participate in NOJV projects as requested by the operating divisions. Represent Devon Energy Corporation as required in Professional Societies and Joint Industry Projects and stay abreast of new technologies
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field of study.Must have a minimum of 2+ years of progressively responsible hands-on experience in oil and gas drilling. This experience will preferably be well rounded in operations with all types of drilling rigs and various geographical locations. Must have a working knowledge of state and federal regulatory laws and regulations (i.e., Environmental Protection Act, MMS, etc.) Must be proficient with personal computers and spreadsheet software. Working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office e-mail and local area networks. Must have previous experience in the following areas: Drilling operations experience on all types of drilling rigs. Writing detailed drilling procedures and well construction plans.Must be familiar with all types of drilling, wellhead and down-hole equipment. Must be able to deal logically and effectively with all levels of management. Must be familiar with general procurement processes, bidding procedures and contracting. Must be proficient with staff work including oral and written communications. Previous field drilling experience is a plus. Field and rig site fieldwork may be required on an infrequent basis.
