Learn and understand Targa’s Safety Polices and Procedures and Business Ethics Policies.  Plan and perform all assignments in a safe manner by utilizing the proper tools, safety and environmental precautions, permitting, and Process Safety Management, and have a basic knowledge of the effect his work will have on his co-workers and the plant and field operations.Learn to fill out applicable work/hot work permits, lockout/tagout documentation, attend and participate in tailgate sessions with others involved in work site activities.Learn and gain a good basic knowledge of Natural Gas Characteristics, Gas Plant Operations, Engine & Compressor Operations and Maintenance, and Gas & Liquid Measurement.  There will be verbal review sessions to determine learning progress and assist in the individual’s development. General clean up of assigned work areas (compressor building, maintenance shop, warehouse building, the plant yard, office building, etc.).Assist in training of new hires or other technicians in the areas of Targa’s safety procedures and policies, mechanical maintenance, and preventive maintenance procedures and programs.Actively participate in all safety meetings and safety functions.  An Corrosion Technician I is responsible for his/her safety and of any person he/she may be working with.Must be able to perform functions as outline on Essential Job Duties for an Corrosion Technician I.Perform other duties as requested by management.Execute all maintenance activities (rectifiers, anodes, coatings, deep well,) related to pipelines. Able to install deep wells, conventional beds threw out the gathering system. Troubleshoot problem areas (road crossings, foreign lines, casing shorts, radio equipment) and recommend corrective actions if appropriate. Capable of performing daily tasks unsupervised. Posses the ability to schedule, prioritize and organize significant pipeline maintenance and new pipeline installation. Ability to operate and maintain pipeline systems. Apply purging and leak repair procedures Knowledge of regulatory requirements impaction pipeline construction and operation including local. County and state regulation, with emphasis on Federal (DOT) regulations. Relieve Pipeline Technicians (vacation, sick, new pipeline projects) when needed. Possess good public relations skills with an emphasis on dealing with land owners High level of commitment to safety and environmental regulatory procedures. Maintain record keeping (filing cabinet, laptop computer) on all work preformed.

Minimum Essential QualificationsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMinimum of 2-5 year of work related experienceSolid verbal / written communication skillsPossess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving recordSolid computer skills to include Microsoft Office SoftwareAble to lift, push and pull 75 lbsAble to work in close quarters while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing or standingAbility to work overtime to include weekends, holidays and to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective/needs Self motivated – ability to work independentlyKnowledge of AC and DC currents

Preferred QualificationsExperience in working on construction of pipelines and corrosion control.
