Cash Application Specialist

Position Overview:
This position will provide support to the CFS Leader on the daily task of application of cash receipts from customers along with supporting collection/claims team, portfolio managers and commerical team. Main responsibilities in this position will be timely application of cash receipts from internal and external customers on a daily basis within and outside the US, the related bank reconciliations, clearing accounts and terms discounts reconciliations as well as assisting in the global reconciliation of internal receivables and cash application.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
· Daily application of $3.5-$4mm US, Canadian and Quartz lockboxes and reconciliation of accounts on a daily basis
· Liasion with collection/claims team and portfolio managers in resolving any unapplied cash in relation to cash receipts
· Clearing cash on customers' account within tolerance from lockbox application
· Responsible for researching and resolving items auto-posted by lockbox to customer accounts
· Distributing daily and weekly reports to collection and claims team
· Supporting CFS leader with DueToDueFrom responsibilities during month and at month end
· Supporting CFS leader in preparing credit notes and check requests for rebates and commissions
· Resolving any issues in relation to cash application process and customer daily cash receipts
· Accurate recordkeeping of outstanding lockbox items, returned checks, bank fees/interest, direct collections
· Month end bank, terms discount and ar clearing account reconciliations
· Assist with monthly closing as necessary
· Support CFS leader on any controllership or audit data requests related to cash application
· Assist CFS leader with special projects/requests when needed

Required Education and Professional Qualifications:
· BA/BS degree required in Finance, Accounting, or Business
· Minimum of 2 years professional experience in accounting or finance preferred

Required Work Experience:
· Strong teamwork and the ability to work with minimal supervision
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong work ethic, organiztion skills and ability to multi-task

Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
· Experience in SAP preferred
· Experience using Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook
