UOP has an immediate need for a Business Director, Gas Processing - Hydrogen in our Des Plaines, IL office. 

Key Direct Accountabilities: PTE Strategic Development (Gas Processing and Hydrogen Product Lines)Product portfolio management for product linesDevelop and oversee programs in the growth areas such as coal gasification, along with Hydrogen and GasEstablishment of acquisition/divestment strategiesStrategic alliance development and management of specific alliancesCurrent product portfolio investment decisions and preparation of business cases (invest to grow, maintain, or harvest)Formal long-term strategic plan and financial forecast (5 years)Oversee the PTE IT Business Partner function for the businessProvide all the support in terms of rollup, process review and analysis of the Capital management for PTE SBUAccountable for the UOP-HON HPS synergy results and driving the UOP-HPS synergy projects across the SBUAccountable to support any other UOP-SM business synergy projects, eg. FASN that overlay with the licensing or equipment businessAccountable for oversight and stewardship of the PTE Quality management leader and the Quality management processes including roll up of all metrics. Product-line Competitive Analysis, Value Propositions, Product Positioning, and Financial AnalysisOperationalize the STRAPMarket analysis, identification of market trends and segmentationProduct-line value propositions, generic product positioning/sales strategies, pricing guidelinesTranslation of market needs into product/service specifications (business models, conference/paper message and direction)Quarterly product-line profitability analysisAnalysis of competitive landscape and setting of strategies for UOP's responseRisk management for unusual risks and new technology commercializationBusiness involvement in all non-hydrocarbon activities under developmentResource planning, inclusive of capital needs in business area, on a medium and long term basis Administrative: Hire, develop, and manage industry segment leaders and product line managers to successfully execute delegated accountabilities

Key Indirect Accountabilities: Market/business input to IP and R&D to assist in development, stage-gating and prioritization of the R&D and IP portfolioShared accountability with other Business Management area for the Marketing expense line on the PTE P&L statement

Basic Qualifications: B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering10+ years industry experience with Hydrocarbons or Gas Processing including senior level management experience in: market analysis, product line management, profitability analysis, pricing & resource planningTravel of 25% required to domestic and international sites
