Huntsman has a challenging position for a Black Belt at our Conroe, Texas facility. This position has excellent opportunity for personal career growth with a dynamic industry leader in the petrochemical arena.
Key AccountabilitiesFocus on process improvements and operational excellence.Drive change and process improvement projects and programs in both manufacturing and other segments of the business.Accountable for achieving individual Six Sigma project savings Accountable for coordinating Six Sigma budget for multiple plant sites.Accountable for leading four projects and delivering $1MM savings per year. Accountable for developing scopes of work and managing/executing individual Six Sigma CAPEX and expense projects. Accountable for ensuring sustainability of completed projects.Responsible for helping Green Belts identify new project opportunities and mentoring Green Belts in application of DMAIC principles.Assist in proper six sigma tool usage with expertise in Minitab, Excel & statistics.Coordinate Six Sigma project selection and manage Six Sigma team incentive program with site leadership team.May act as Project Manager of small CAPEX projects as related to Six Sigma projects.
Educational Requirements & Work ExperienceBachelor Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited University required Minimum of two years experience in chemical plant operations required Six Sigma Black or Green Belt DMAIC training requiredMinimum of four projects completed utilizing DMAIC philosophy requiredLean Six Sigma training preferredDFSS training preferredExperience with Minitab preferred
Special Requirements & QualificationsEffectively manage resources (people, time, costs etc). Accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks. Evaluates options and choose the most appropriate course of action, taking constraints into account. Be pro-active and seizes opportunities and drives delivery for sustained improvements. Be able to handle risk and uncertainty and adapts easily and quickly to changing environment without losing effectiveness. Effectively chooses between different influencing approaches that are appropriate to the situation when working with others.Effectively communicates and works with site leadership team to manage the Six Sigma process.Must be able to effectively communicate up and down the line between hourly personnel and senior management.Effective presentation skills.Participate and/or present modules during greenbelt training at various Huntsman manufacturing locations.
