Americas Sourcing Leader

Position Overview:
The Americas Sourcing Leader position will lead execution of daily sourcing / buying activities to ensure appropriate and timly supply of all required materials and services are provided to the Americas business. Responsibilities also encompass supplier quality, conformance, and service levels. This position will work very closely the Global Senior Commodity Leaders to ensure that all materials / items are sourced in accordance with Momentive's global contracts and global strategy.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
· Responsible for site leadership and team of approximately 5 - 8 direct reprts.
· Lead team of buyers to ensure that all Americas sourcing and supply needs are met on a daily basis with no business interuption.
· Work closely with Global Senior Commodity leaders to ensure that we are buying according to Momentive's contracts and strategy.
· Works closely with Manufacfturing and Supply Chain Leaders to resolve issues with respect to needed supply.
· Lead regional sourcing projects.
· Ensures contracts are in place for local/regional buys which are not part of global contracts.
· Creates budget forecasts as needed to assist in financial reporting & analysis.
· Recommends development projects related to single source exposure, inflationary reactions or chronic supply problems
· Coaches and mentors buyers for career development
· Implement process and transactional improvements across all Sourcing activities  

Required Education and Professional Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or a related field.

Required Work Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of previous sourcing experience.
· Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisor experience.

Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
· Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts
· Possess hands on knowledge of different methods and approaches to supply base issues.
· Understands the dynamics of supply/demand and capacity/consumption
· Experience in influencing and coordinating with business & functional leaders
· Proven execution skills and attention to detail.
· Strong project management skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
· Excellent planning & organizational skills, with the ability to provide a quick response to changes in customer needs
· Adaptability to changing business priorities & ability to perform under compressed schedules
· Ability to manage & monitor multiple systems, sources of information, & data requests on a daily basis.

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:
· Experience with SAP.
· Six Sigma Certification.
· Possess multiple country direct sourcing experience, including but not limited to: Market and Country identification; Supplier evaluation and qualification processes; international sourcing knowledge with customes and courtesy, US customs experience; freight selection
· Ability to negotiate across countries and cultures.
· CPM
