Due to our continued growth we are seeking our first Accounting Manager to join our expanding Finance team:

Position Summary:  As the Accounting Manager will participate in the production and analysis of accounting data and regular financial reporting.  You will be responsible for overseeing the month end close and prepare the monthly financial statements and reconciliations. You will also be responsible for compiling the annual budgets and providing commentary on monthly variances.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of growth as the company grows, taking on additional responsibilities as the company moves through future rounds of financings and IPO.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

· Resolve daily operational accounting issues

· Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (cash flow, income statement and balance sheet), including month end close preparation, in a timely fashion:

o  Oversee balance sheet analysis to ensure all accruals are properly stated, all reconciliations properly prepared and support for all balance sheet accounts are properly maintained

o  Analyze all expense trends to assure accruals are properly stated at month end

o  Ensure all subledgers are balanced with the general ledger

o  Reconcile actuals versus budget and prior year, along with variance analysis

· Support management in the identification and reporting of key performance indicators

· Work with the audit firm to plan and execute efficient year end (and quarterly when applicable) audits

· Provide technical research and documentation of all accounting and financial issues

· Contribute to the development of initial  accounting policies and procedures

· Establish initial controls in coordination with the Controller and revise them as the company grows

· Support the implementation of the Great Plains reporting system and champion its expanded use among all employees

· Manage sales contracts and other commercial agreements as they are finalized by keying in their contents to the Great Plains reporting system

 

Primary Qualifications Include:

· Degree in Accountancy/CPA with 5-10 years of related experience

· Ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines

· Familiarity with statutory reporting requirements

· Sound technical knowledge and strong operational and financial control background

· Proficient in PC skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word)

· Experience with Microsoft Great Plains accounting and reporting software

· Ability to work with all levels of people in cross functional teams
