Vice President Communications

Our client a global leader in their industry has an urgent need for a Vice President of Communications for their Cincinnati, Ohio headquarters. 

Reports to COO
• Oversees company-wide function focused on Communications (internal and external) and Services (providing communications and business development support tools to operating Divisions)
• Collaborates effectively with senior management and department heads
• Establishes and promotes branding messages and sets communications direction for the company


Responsibilities:• Identify Communications and Services functions and resources needed to implement strategy; staff department appropriately
• Implement work flow processes that ensure efficient, timely, high quality, and cost-effective dissemination of internal and external communications
• Effectively manage staff to quickly implement strategy and develop staff to enhance and sustain top performance
• Manage the creative process from concept through production
• Utilize all relevant media to deliver both internal and external messages effectively
• Identify and measure to assess (1) effectiveness of communication (2) whether services are meeting needs of internal  customers
• Support Division business development staff in delivering best in class presentation and project interview materials
• Provide creative direction to outside staff and suppliers and manage them effectively
• Enhance staff development
Qualifications:


• Bachelors degree required in Communications, English, Journalism, Advertising or related field
• Ten years combined work experience in advertising, public relations, and corporate communications; extensive mixed media experience 
• experience leading, directing, and managing a communications team
• Skilled manager and developer of people
• Strong organization and project management skills
• Hands-on manager with proven ability to think strategically and act tactically
• Experience in a variety of business settings
• Ability to delegate effectively to maximize department efficiency and performance
• Extensive production experience using all forms of media
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience in a complex business environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work well with a wide variety of people with differing priorities
• Skilled negotiator
• Self motivated; able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong ability to multi-task and adjust quickly to changing priorities
