VTC Network Engineer -- Richmond, VA

  AVI-SPL is the global leader in audiovisual (AV) sales, systems integration, & service, and provides professional on-site client services through its Managed Conference Systems division (MCS).   This enables clients to strategically manage their installed AV and VTC systems with the assistance of MCS' custom support, tailored to meet customer-specific requirements. Are you an experienced and talented VTC Network Engineer? Can you keep a VTC network operational, humming along, with professional service?We seek a VTC Network Engineer to coordinate, interface, and support a high-end client VTC network in a fast-paced customer service corporate setting in Richmond, VA. This is a team environment, where you will use your extensive VTC and Network experiences, skills and training to provide our client company a world-class service experience at their corporate location. Major Duties & Responsibilities:· Interface with client IP engineers and executives, manufacturers, and internal MCS technical team, working with complex, sophisticated AV VTC systems· Provide professional level network engineering support, including analysis, design, integration, and service.· Perform root cause analysis and resolution for unresolved trouble tickets· Assist with, or oversight of, network, switches, routers, LAN / WAN and other network devices.· Provide engineering support for designing, facilitating, and monitoring new or upgraded hardware & software.· Create and update all technical documentation, diagrams, and project plans Qualifications:· Required....Minimum of 3 years network experience and · Required....3 years of ISDN experience (Primary/Basic Rate Interface – PRI/BRI)· Required....proficiency with Cisco products· Verifiable proficiency and experiences with.....o  Gatekeepers, gatewayso  H.320 and H.323 in a mixed environmento  Border controllers; bridgeso  Integrated video conferencing roomso  AMX touch panels; Polycom codecs; Vortex DSPs· Familiarity with network group configurations, network security, mastery of WAN/LAN topologies; Wintel; Desktop. Be familiar with VLAN, DNS, and Qos.  Additional Preferences – these would be a definite plus:· Project Management experience· Prior experience in a corporate environment ... able to understand and interact within an existing corporate culture, with unique business requirements.· Excellent knowledge of technical systems analysis, room configurations, infrastructure design, technical systems design, equipment specifications, and contractor installation.· Ability to troubleshoot & solve problems that involve multiple hardware brands and different network disciplines.· Have a can-do attitude, and ability to communicate clearly & concisely with both technical and non-technical client members. · Most Critical.....
