VP of HR - Americas Region

Position Purpose
Reporting to the President Recall Americas, the VP HR Americas will provide HR leadership and develop and implement the Americas HR strategy to ensure the right human capital is available to achieve the business results. As a business partner to the President he/she will provide high-level strategic advice and support in the area of organizational development, change management, individual development and remuneration. As a member of the Americas Executive team, he/she will contribute to the overall business result.
Key Accountabilities
Policy and standards
Ensure the right policies, standards and processes are in place to achieve consistency and equity in the Americas region.
Recruitment
Oversees the recruitment function. Ensures time to fill KPI’s are met.
Training and development
Support the BU’s and functions in their development needs by developing and implementing programs aligned to the business direction. Monitor annual performance appraisal system and derive actions from surfaced information. Review and approve training plans of regions, markets and individuals. Identify overall Americas Training needs and transform them in appropriate training programs; supervise implementation.
Compensation & Benefits
Advise managers on C&B questions and issues. Review compensation structure regularly and suggest adjustment when required. Work closely with the Brambles CoE group to ensure level playing field within the company.
Employee Relations
Ensure proper Internal Communication. Supervise Employee Satisfaction survey and action planning. Conflict solving.
Industrial Relations
Coordinate with local unions when required. Provide guidance and leadership on local negotiations. Maintains awareness of current employment relation law, salary market, HR best practices, technology and economic trends. Supports frontline leadership in creating a pro-active and positive industrial relationship climate.
Strategic Leadership
Work with the Americas Leadership team to design the mid- and long-term strategy of the company and represent the HR function in these discussions. Develop HR and people strategies that will provide the business with highly motivated talent pool that will not only deliver business growth today but also prepare the business for future needs.
Organization development
Support the Americas regions in their organizational design & development. Work with Senior Executives on organizational projects and carry out implementation. Deploy a performance culture in the organization.
HR Planning & Reporting
Prepare Annual Business Plan for Human Resources for Recall Americas. Monitor Human Resources Key Performance Indicators, such as headcount, employment cost, turnover, employee engagement etc. Initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Values & Vision
Support the President in championing communication, culture change, change management. Model and reinforce to the rest of the business.
Qualifications
University Degree in Economics, Law or Social sciences. An additional Degree in Business Administration or Human resources Management would be a distinctive plus.
· High-calibre, generalist with human resources management experience (min. 10 years) with a strong functional background in people selection and development and OD.
· Work experience with truly international, multi-cultural experience and outlook. Experience in working in different countries is critical.
· Experience as an HR generalist.
· A track record in a dynamic business environment (involving growth, innovation, change and cost reduction programs) with a hands-on, practical and pro-active approach and a delivery mentality (project experience); not a heavy systems orientation.
· Sound understanding of professional services business environment.
· Experience of successfully assisting organizational- and cultural changes at the CEO/ President level.
· Experience of “having a seat at the executive table” is a must
