VP, Sales for a new B2B initiative:
The National Notary Association (NNA) is the nationally and internationally recognized professional association for America’s 4.8 million Notaries Public. The NNA is seeking a business development and sales executive for a new B2B initiative. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
The NNA is leading the effort in two significant business arenas: 1) deployment of a national network of trained and certified Notaries to provide critical components of identity verification and management and 2) development of electronic notarization systems and services. Both serve companies in diverse industries such as aerospace, defense, pharmaceuticals, financial services and human resources. The VP, Sales will develop business opportunities with major corporations and government agencies that will result in work assignments for the growing network of Trusted Enrollment Agentsâ„¢ and will create adoption of eNotarization processes. This new business strategy complements an existing B2B business line, focused on promoting traditional Notary products and services to companies with significant concentrations of Notaries; however, best sales opportunities are expected to come from outside the current 1,200 corporate clients.
JOB SUMMARY:
The VP, Sales is responsible for sales of NNA’s business solutions, deploying the growing network of Trusted Enrollment Agents™ as well as other NNA products and services such as eNotarization tools software and services to large companies in various service industries and government agencies. This is a new position and will have significant influence over the development and growth of the Identity Management suite of solutions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Identify, develop and close new business opportunities, with the initial focus on aerospace, defense, pharmaceuticals, human resource and financial services.
· Build relationships with target senior-level executives, conducting needs/requirements analyses, conducting technical demonstrations, developing comprehensive solutions proposals, designing and delivering pilot programs.
· Define the highest opportunity markets (based on revenue and time to close) and formulate meaningful sales/revenue targets.
· Generate and present monthly sales progress and forecast reports to executive management.
· Travel 30 – 50% of the time, after initial introduction to NNA, across the United States (depending on location of highest opportunity markets) to meet with prospects, influencers and customers.
· Identify needs and work with Marketing in the development of B2B collateral materials and other sales tools.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Demonstrated strength in identifying, developing a closing B2B sales; minimum 3 years relevant experience.
· An entrepreneurial mind-set and ability to function as a one-person operation in order to demonstrate success and define a realistic market size and target. While no supporting staff will be available initially, internal stakeholders with existing expertise will be a valuable resource. Key stakeholders include the NNA executive management and subject matter experts throughout the NNA organization (eNotarization, marketing, education, existing B2B sales leadership).
· Ability to create demand by deploying a consultative sales strategy while communicating technical and legal concepts to business professionals. Ability to interact effectively and influence high-level executives such as CEO/CFO/CISO through impactful presentations; ability to develop such high-impact presentations and other sales tools.
· As a consultative sales professional, the candidate should possess a basic understanding of the overall information security market, ability to discuss trends related to electronic signatures and records, and ideally understand the basic operations of a managed PKI (X.509 digital certificate) solution for user authentication, encryption and digital signing.
· Experience presenting to and negotiating agreements with information security, risk management/compliance, and/or business development executives in large enterprises.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Proficiency with MS Windows, Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat/Reader, and various Contact Management Systems (ACT, GOLDMINE, SALESFORCE, etc.)
