Location:US-IL-Chicago Job Number:CHI0001N Employee Status : Regular Job Type :Experienced Schedule : Full-time Description Ernst & Young's Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice offers companies professional transaction experience. We help clients determine the right deal to do, and then assist them in doing the deal right. Within TAS, Transaction Support services encompass the strategic development and execution of an appropriate transaction structure, including the execution of financial due diligence. Our team works to understand profit drivers and trends, challenge assumptions of future performance, and assist with purchase agreements and post-closing transaction matters.We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager in our Commercial Due Diligence team, which provides insight into a proposed transaction by evaluating the consistency of the transaction with overall strategy; assessing attractiveness of potential targets in comparison with industry peers and buyers' investment rationale; and analyzing various external factors (e.g. market, competitor, and customer) to understand the achievability of the target's revenue forecast. The practice provides our clients with detailed, robust analysis to allow for informed decision making on whether to proceed on the transaction. The CDD team serves primarily private equity firms and strategic buyers (e.g. corporations)ResponsibilitiesReview transaction rationale and/or deal documents to identify critical business issues and risks relating to a proposed transaction.Assist in defining the objective and scope of commercial due diligence engagement and client deliverables in consultation with the engagement manager and appropriate partner.Support the project from initial data collection and analysis to creating final client deliverables that meet E&Y quality standards.Maintain relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and other E&Y TAS teams on the engagement.Effectively support and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, while staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business.Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services and help document the engagement procedures performed against objectives. To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering and/or other appropriate academic major with a strong background in strategy and finance approximately 4+ years of industry and/or consulting experience in managing business strategy and M&A projects in complex business environments ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis and the ability to link business strategy to performance excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills strong written and verbal communication skills a dedication to teamwork and commitment to staying at the cutting edge of knowledge in focused industries The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, when necessary. Estimated travel is approximately 25% of the time.
