We are currently seeking a Business Incentives professional who is a seasoned consultant or economic developer with experience in securing, negotiating and implementing economic development incentive projects, including some combination of research, negotiation, documentation, implementation and/or compliance. Responsibilities: This is a challenging and essential role with responsibility for project development, management, execution and results, as well as primary contact for clients and public officials. Candidates should be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of tax credits and incentives, excellent research and investigation skills, negotiating ability, and capacity to interact with and obtain critical information from government officials and corporate executives. Core Competencies (The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of and success implementing the following): Investment tax credits Research and development tax credits Job tax credits and employee training credits Enterprise zone and other targeted tax area credits Various state and local incentives such as: property tax abatements, employee training grant programs, tax increment financing, infrastructure grants, etc. Requirements 5 years business experience, of which 3 or more years have been focused on tax credits and/or negotiated incentives A Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable) Broad exposure to state and local taxation and/or economic development Excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills Ideal backgrounds would include increased responsibility at a location/incentives consulting firm, state and local tax consulting firm or public/private sector economic development entity.
