Location:US-NY-New York Job Number:NEW00061 Employee Status : Regular Job Type :Experienced Schedule : Full-time Description Ernst & Young's Northeast Tax Department serves high-profile, national and multinational clients and is led by nationally recognized tax professionals who represent some of the firm's most senior tax talent. Our Real Estate Transactions Group currently has a career opportunity for a Manager to focus on asset finance-related tax advisory services in connection with U.S. domestic and cross-border transactions. Tax advisory services relate to both private and public sector transactions financing infrastructure and other assets, including transportation, real estate and energy assets. Recently, Public/Private Partnerships have become a new area of focus as the demand for this experience has grown. These transactions involve the private sector financing and operation of public sector infrastructure. In this role, this individual can gain experience in transaction due diligence, planning and implementation, research and analysis of fundamental tax issues and writing tax memoranda. ResponsibilitiesInteract with firm professionals from multiple tax disciplines (e.g., real estate, leasing, partnerships, accounting methods, financial instruments, international tax). Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations. Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business. Build on technical competence by keeping up-to-date on trends, developments, and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations. Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products. Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches. Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work product. Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare practical and effective approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals. Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas. Some domestic travel. To qualify, candidates must have: education requirements: JD/LLM or bachelor's degree with MST licensing requirements: Attorney or CPA a minimum of 6 years of related business experience tax transactional experience excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required with the ability to interact with all levels of management good project management and presentation skills, ability to work independently
