Nielsen is looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join the Innovation Delivery Organization (IDO). As a part of the IDO team you will be an integral part of a high energy team that is revolutionizing the way that Nielsen delivers value to its customers. As a Nielsen Senior Technical Business Analyst you will work cross-functionally with Product Management, IT Development and QA to ensure continuity is enforced in the requirements and specifications phases of development in our Answers(tm) On-Demand environment. Answers is an intuitive, web based, Business Intelligence solution that empowers users to gain market insights, share information, and take action to drive profitable results. This position is responsible for defining and creating business requirements and functional specification documents for both software and database applications, overseeing and approving technical design and systems development and testing to ensure requirements are met, creating and/or auditing high level functional design, and providing support to Project Managers to ensure project meets required timelines and deliverables. The ideal candidate must have experience in custom application development as well as excellent data analysis and design skills. The ability to prioritize and work effectively (both independently and within a team) in a fast paced environment is essential. Knowledge of ETL and/or BI tools is a plus.Qualifications· 7+ years experience in business / systems analysis, and/or application design & development.· Minimum 4 years prior experience in full systems software development lifecycle on multiple concurrent projects. Demonstrated track record of delivering solutions that meet business needs.· Proven track record in working directly with clients to define technology solutions that enable their business objectives.· Ability to effectively lead and influence multiple levels of an organization across functional boundaries.· In depth knowledge of relevant technology concepts (e.g. relational databases, mainframe, client-server and web-based architectures).· Strong analytic and problem solving skills.· Excellent oral and written communication skills including problem solving, prioritizing and interpersonal relationship building.· Proven track record in making significant contributions to team efforts.· Proven organization and Time Management Skills (ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines)· Ability to work independently with little supervision and direct the work of others.· Proficient at complex business process modeling.· Demonstrated proficiency in data modeling concepts.· CPG industry (retail and/or manufacturing) or Information Services experience with a business background in marketing research.
