Sr. Research Analyst (Energy)
Sr. Research Analyst (Energy) Vulcan Inc is recruiting for a Sr. Research Analyst (Energy) to support the investigation, evaluation and analysis of technologies and policies to help mitigate climate change risk. The position reports to the Climate Change Initiatives Director in the Technology R&D Division. The Sr. Research Analyst will provide research and analysis of energy technology and development, scale-up and market deployment. They will develop quantitative models of costs and penetration of energy technologies and will work with other Vulcan individuals and departments, including the Paul Allen Family Foundation and Investment Management, to carry out the mission.
Qualifications for the role include a Master's degree from an accredited institution in the areas of engineering, economics or natural resource management, with a minimum of 3 years relevant energy economics modeling and analysis experience. Demonstrated experience in developing quantitative models for analyzing economics of large scale energy technologies and systems required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge and experience analyzing the economic impacts of energy and environmental policy and a demonstrated ability to initiate and manage complex projects involving multiple internal and external relationships to a successful conclusion. Technical knowledge that is broad enough to encompass many facets of energy needs, sources, production, environmental impact and economics is required.
