That's the energy and excitement behind Amazon. Service Technician I/II Description:The Service Technician will ensure safety is his/her first priority in all that they do. Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all operations and facilities support equipment. Prioritizing of work during heavy times will also be expected. Responsibilities: Ensure all safety programs, policies and procedures are strictly followed. Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor system electronics. Maintain and troubleshoot all sorting system electronics. Ability to correctly use all mechanical hand tools. (Power and manual tools) Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, and lighting systems. Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, variable frequency drives, PLC I/O, and encoders. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with seniors, peers, and subordinates. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all mechanical conveyor components (for example, bearings, reducers, chains drives, etc.) Accurately record activities on Daily Service Report. Physical Demands: Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. Lifting parts and tools weighing on average of 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds. Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flex and rotation). Working conditions may include small places, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, noise, and vibration, standing on concrete for long periods, and standing on wet or uneven surfaces. Operational Support: Promote and conduct good housekeeping practices. Flexibility with work hours and days (24 /7/ 365 including holidays). Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer-focused manner.Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and workload. Proven ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers and management. The desire to learn the equipment and advance within the department. Experience and proficiency in the following areas: Automated conveyor systems and controls. Electrical and electronic principals. Mechanical Blueprint and electrical schematic reading. Preventative maintenance procedures. Industrial electrical. Industrial controls. PLC controls. Industrial PC literacy. Knowledge of N.E.C. Proficiency in using hand tools Knowledge of Mechanical Diagnose Ability to consistently provide high quality products or services. Ability to perform root cause analysis and follows basic troubleshooting methods. Highly self motivated. Performs weekly PM area walkthrough and pro-actively address issues to prevent unsafe conditions or equipment outages from occurring. Productively uses e-mail, MS Word, and MS Excel and demonstrated ability to use other PC-based applications/programs.
