Senior Economist

Global Insight Global Insight, Global Insight, a leading economics and consulting company, is seeking a senior economist to fill the position of Principal, Econometric Modeling in Lexington, Massachusetts.

 

The primary responsibilities will focus on supporting Global Insight's Country Intelligence and Global Macroeconomics teams by playing a key role in econometric modeling.  Modeling responsibilities will include the design and construction of state-of-the-art economic forecasting and scenario models, and maintenance of and improvements to existing country and global models.  Additional responsibilities will include managing consulting assignments involving information based on economic, econometric, and statistics analysis, for clients within corporations, financial institutions and government agencies.

 

Candidates should have strong analytical and econometric modeling skills and possess a Ph.D. in economics with specialization in econometrics, finance, international economics, public finance, industrial organization, labor, or other economic fields, with heavy mix of quantitative analytics.  Additionally, the ideal candidate should haveMinimum five years of experience in macroeconomic modeling Multiple years of experience in model-related activities, including forecasting, scenario development and simulationExperience in custom modeling to client specificationsDemonstrated skills to design, develop, and evaluate large and complex macro econometric models, including multi-country modelsPractical knowledge and understanding of advanced and up-to-date econometric theories and techniques
