Senior Design EngineerDescription: The Mechanical Engineer will have the following responsibilities: Performing calculations to support the design of pressure vessels and Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy in accordance with American Society of Mechanical (ASME)/Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy (PVHO-1) requirements. Perform volume and flow rate computations, design of piping systems, and sizing and selection of air compressors consistent with system-level ASME/PVHO-1 pressure vessel applications. Performing modular rack design (power, grounding, cooling, and packaging) and electrical enclosure design/layout to enable troubleshooting to lowest replaceable unit (LRU). Develop assembly drawing packages for structural and mechanical designs. Perform site surveys and develop installation control drawings. Thank you for choosing Volt Technical Services Group.Requirements: Qualifications and Experience (Minimum): BS in mechanical engineering with minimum of 10 years experience. Experience in the design of pressure vessels in accordance with the ASME, Chapter VIII standards.Familiar with requirements for the design of Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy (PVHO) in accordance with PVHO-1 requirements. Familiarity with CODECALC Software (PV Elite® 2006 for Windows 2000/XP® March 06, Pressure Vessel Design and Analysis Software) or more advanced finite element analysis (FEA) design software.Ability to design assemblies using SolidWorks modeling software and AutoCAD for developing drawings of complex components and sub-systems. Familiarity in modular rack design (power, grounding, cooling, packaging) and electrical enclosure design/layout to enable troubleshooting to lowest replaceable unit (LRU). Experience in facilities engineering and field installations; hospital or clinical site installation a PLUS. Strong familiarity in engineering processes using a systems approach in mechanical design applications. Must be familiar with a variety of industry concepts, practices, procedures and workmanship standards associated with systems engineering testing and product development. Familiarity with requirements specified in National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA).Proven skills in personnel management and designing to cost.Effective communications to include written, verbal and listening skills.
