Sales and Compensation Analyst

Reporting to the Vice President Sales Operations, the Sales and Compensation Analyst will be responsible for the preparation, reporting, and detailed analysis of weekly / monthly metrics over the sales process.  The position will be responsible for the calculation of variable monthly commissions and quarterly bonus programs within the sales area.  The position will maintain foundation information within reporting systems for the reporting of sales matrix and payment of commission.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Establish a system for extracting, reporting, and analyzing valuable data that will be used to shape sales processes and initiativesGenerate weekly and monthly reports of actual performance verses goals for key sales metrics.  Metrics include measurement over the sales pipeline, orders, revenue, pricing, utilization and key sales activity.Perform detailed analysis of sales and compensation metrics and provide summary data to the sales departmentDetermine the monthly variable commission programs related to a variety sales positions.Calculate agent commissions on a monthly basis and sales bonus payments on a quarterly basis.Maintain system tables for reporting, including sales alignments to accounts.Prepare and monitor fixed expense budgets for the sales department Provide assistance in the review and explanation of fixed expense variances to plan as well as actual spending versus plan.Additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a reporting and analysis roleMaster’s degree/MBA strongly preferredAdvance skills in Excel or other related measurement packages

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must be able to think analytically and seek understanding through questions and investigation.Must understand the flow of order and expense information and reporting tools.Superior oral and written communication skills required
