SQL Server DBA (perm hire)

McKinley is recruiting for one of our best clients, for a PERM HIRE position, located in the NW subs of Minneapolis.  Our client is undergoing tremendous growth and needs a solid DBA with replication, mirroring/clustering, migration from SQL 2000 to 2005, and hopefully experience with  SQL modeling and architecting.  This is a small shop environment where you will have the ability to set direction and be involved in all aspects of database administration.

 1. SQL Server performance tuning on all DB instances

2. Provide efficient and secure storage of all corporate data

3. Assist in capacity planning, modeling and architecting

4. Setup and execution of real-time and delayed data replication across the enterprise

5. Design of clustered and/or mirrored SQL2005 database environments

6. Owner of all transaction log, backup, and recovery processes

7. ER modeling – logical and physical design

8. Provide guidance and instruction to development staff on best practices/techniques

9. Manage user access and security to corporate data

10.  Aggressively pursue solutions to any disruptions in service

11.  Keep confidential all applicant, client, and proprietary information

12.  24/7 support responsibilities

 

Requirements

· College degree, technical school degree, or equivalent experience in a technology related field

· Minimum 4 years experience in DBA role supporting 100+  end users, preferably in a Microsoft SQL Server environment

· SQL2000 and SQL2005 32bit and 64bit clustering experience

· Database replication experience required

· Provide off-hours support and maintenance as required

· Proficient in data modeling tools and techniques

· Ability to communicate effectively with all consumers of ISS services
