Location:US-NJ-Secaucus Job Number:SEC0001S Employee Status : Regular Job Type :Experienced Schedule : Full-time Description The Desktop Products & Infrastructure team is seeking a seasoned Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) support professional with programming experience. Detailed below are the expected responsibilities for this position: SMS Administration: Target Requests: Reviews SMS target requests, creates all necessary target collections, clarifies and confirms requests with the Deployment Managers, prepares the packages and targets the advertisements. Infrastructure Maintenance: Daily monitoring of SMS infrastructure. Supports all Americas area site servers, including troubleshooting, maintaining compliance, and maintaining IP based boundary lists. Participation on peer group team: Attends and provides Product Manager updates on each conference call Escalation point for all SMS issues identified by the field Interface with Microsoft Support as needed Ensure SMS backups complete and troubleshoot when they do not complete Support of SMS compliance process, including working to improve SMS client health, ensuring the integrity of SMS hardware and software data, and ensuring that software distribution works effectively on 40,000+ client systems Application Development: Assist in the maintenance of existing custom SMS tools: Package Viewer, Package Browser, Diagnostic Tool, Log Collector, Health Scripts, Client Installers Development of new tools to support the administration of SMS Additional Responsibilities: Assist in the maintenance of the Distributed File System replication infrastructure. Assist in the maintenance of the System Center Operations Manager 2007 monitoring server. Run ad-hoc SMS reports and provide analysis for Deployment Managers and Asset Management. Assist in the planning and implementation of the next version of SMS (System Center Configuration Manager 2007). The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science. At least 7 years of technical experience, particularly in desktop management At least 3 years experience administering Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 and/or Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager At least 3 years programming experience with vb.net Experience programming with Visual Basic 6, WiseScript, Delphi, VBScript, or WMI is a plus Extensive Microsoft Windows knowledge, both with server and desktop operating systems Significant networking (client/server) knowledge Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Ability to write technical specifications/documentation and document business cases Experience leading projects
