Location:US-NY-New York Job Number:NEW0001O Employee Status : Regular Job Type :Experienced Schedule : Full-time Description This role will be responsible for overseeing the staffing function in the NY Tri State Area, supervising resource associates (PCs who are also responsible for deployment) in the NYC office, and coordinating with Boston resource manager to resolve staffing issues/needs in the Northeast Sub Area. ResponsibilitiesThis role performs all the functions of the resource associate but the scope of responsibility is greater, whether it is that they supervise resource associates or have an office or area level of responsibility. Manages assignments for managers and senior managers. Meet with Partners, Senior Managers and Managers to discuss staffing requirements for their clients, and to gain an understanding of specific engagement needs and deadlines. Directly supervises resource associates, provides support as needed on a daily basis regarding staffing issues/concerns. Responsible for performance management of resource associates. Delegates projects/tasks as appropriate to enhance developmental opportunities. Train resource associates on the scheduling tool and area policies and procedures. Resolves conflicts with engagement team members to ensure appropriate solutions are identified in a timely manner considering engagement requirements and developmental goals of staff supported. Proactively identify and address scheduling issues (i.e. excessively high/low utilization, high or low overtime, morale issues, performance issues, staff/engagement/client issues and the level of out of town assignments). Works with Learning Consultant to identify instructors for firm sponsored training. Works with People Consultants in assignment of counselors. Works with campus and experienced hire recruiters regarding needs and start dates for interns, staff hires and transfers. Knowledge of engagement economics and appropriate staff leverage or mix. Participates in campus recruiting and office visits and related activities. Attends roundtables for assigned personnel. Identifies performance or morale issues with client serving staff supported, address with Human Resources and Resource Management executives as needed. May oversee resource associates or administrative support staff, but will not always have supervisory responsibilities. Minimal supervision on a day to day basis, must be able to work independently and be able to set priorities as appropriate. Consults with Resource Management executives only as needed regarding issues/conflicts they can not resolve. Approximately 10% overtime generally incurred. Some travel may be necessary. To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree at least 6-8 years of relevant work experience, preferably in staffing and human resources a minimum of 5 years of client service or consulting experience is highly desired excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills strong conflict-resolution and negotiating abilities strong written and verbal communication skills outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills and the ability to work in a connected environment a positive attitude and an independent work ethic proficiency in MS applications The Resource Manager must be responsive to changing priorities and must be able to identify conflicts and suggest potential alternatives while dealing with personnel who may be resistant to the scheduling process or dealing with stressful situations. Resource Managers must also be able to work in a connected environment where face-to-face communications with their peer group and primary contacts is not always possible.
