We are currently recruiting for a ROI Systems Engineer for our IT division… Job Summary The System Engineer provides technical leadership and is responsible for the overall service delivery and technical quality of one or more applications hosted by the Solutions Engineering & Delivery team. This includes installation, configuration and maintenance. The primary application this individual will be responsible for will be the Cobius Release Manager solution which supports the Iron Mountain Release Of Information (ROI) business line. Essential Functions Will assist in packaging system builds, configures and test production level computing systems and installs incremental changes, patches and upgrades to all computing systems related to the Cobius Release Manager application. Provides tier 2 & 3 support for incident resolution and service request processes for technical problems and IT issues involving the Cobius Release Manager application and environments. Performs risk assessments for the application(s), and represents these to IT Management. Sets strategy for technology upgrades of application(s): version upgrades, application migration plans, etc. Release management including change controls, scheduling releases and validating the deployment. Ensures standards for the SED organization encompass the needs of other IT organizations (examples: monitoring, support, security). Monitoring responsibilities, ensure all system components have appropriate alerts in place. Performance measurement, tuning and reporting. Optimize processes, develop new processes as required, daily metric reporting. Functions as on-call or backup for other staff members to provide Level 2 or 3 support. Must maintain strong relationship with Cobius for development and support needs. Manages software technical issues within Cobius software application. Manage build out of new environments, install application code, validate new environment, capacity planning. Acts as liaison to other IT organizations (examples: infrastructure teams such as Networking, Middleware). Update process documentation as required. Create reports using Crystal Reports as required for the ROI business and accounting. Perform Cobius application testing including user interface functional testing and output/reports testing. Job Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Experience in managing the delivery of global enterprise software solutions (Hosted Service). Experience handling upgrades, capacity planning and provisioning as daily functions. Strong experience with Windows 2003 Server. Experience in advanced TCP/IP (WINS, DNS, DHCP). Experience with certificate services. Experience with SOX compliance and controls. Experience with disk management and structure (RAID, Clustering). Knowledge and experience with server based administrative activities (User Admin, backups, Microsoft Security patching). Experience with system configuration at the command line level. Knowledge of IBM hardware components. Exposure to SAN and NAS would be beneficial. Ability to assist with database administration standards. Ensure database changes are managed according to best practice. Assist with assuring the integrity and performance of the databases. Manage load configurations and provide recommendations for improving performance. Knowledge of database technical concepts including SQL Server Security. Demonstrated aptitude for technical aspects of database administration. Some knowledge Data Transformation Services (DTS) as well as the ability to write queries. Prior experience with TSQL to develop stored procedures. Manage and assist with off hours change controls. Previous experience with VMWare ESX 3.0 is a big plus. Maintain current knowledge of the technology industry including leading tools and best practices. Leadership skills to exert influence on people who will follow vision and decisions. System thinking skills to understand decisions and constraints in the wide scope pertaining to whole of the solution at hand; the ability to abstract and model problems. Strategic thinking skills for understanding decisions and constraints and their alignments to the overall business of the company. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks. Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in a technical area, preferably computer science or engineering. Minimum 5 years of related experience.
