Program Manager - OLMP Performance Improvement Initiatives
The Program Manager, OLMP Performance Improvement Initiatives at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA, is responsible for the management of programs/projects associated with key national performance improvement initiatives in the OLMP under the leadership of the VP Operational Initiatives and Performance. Develops and facilitates the execution of action plans and responses for improvements as needed. Work focuses on large-scale OLMP performance improvement initiatives at the national and regional levels and alignment with other strategic priorities of the OLMP and the National Agreement. Primary responsibility is to advance key initiative via the development of new, innovative approaches to improving and leading the dissemination and implementation of major initiatives performance as identified by leadership of the OLMP. Requires some travel estimated to be 25%. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES* Manages project teams/programs for key performance issues for key initiatives. Assures interface within own reporting structure and Regional LMP and Operations leadership to produce timely and valuable results. * Collaborates with project/program leaders throughout the organization, who are also working on the same key initiatives, to provide guidance and support in pursuit of the achievement of goals related to the care experience. Contributes to the development of Program wide expert panels to help identify improvement opportunities and corresponding actions for that identified initiative. * Develops and implements project teams/programs that are interdisciplinary in nature and involve multiple departments. * Develops and facilitates best practices in improvement for key initiatives and disseminates and implements the spread across Regions and Medical Centers. * Produces written materials and training materials to advance the key initiatives. * Represents the OLMP on key committees related to the assigned key initiatives, and takes on special projects as assigned. * Works collaboratively with leaders of the coalition of KP unions, the Federation and Hospitals and Health Plans to advance the identified key initiatives. MINIMUM REQURIEMENTS:* Typically 2-3 years of management or program management experience, and 5-8 years of related experience. * Bachelors or 4 years degree in related field or equivalent experience * Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and communication, negotiation, persuasion and collaboration skills with senior leaders and national external health care leaders. * Significant credibility for work with the Labor Management Partnership and key Initiatives in the National Agreement. * Demonstrated understanding of organizational dynamics in complex systems and change agent skills. * Thorough knowledge and broad expertise of policies, practices, and systems. * Substantial knowledge in one or more of the following: performance improvement, labor relations, project management, system implementation, and hospital and physician practice operation. * High energy, hands-on team player with excellent presentation and public relations skills. * Demonstrated commitment to advancing the Labor Management Partnership. * Ability to travel approximately 25% PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Operational background in a healthcare setting and with labor unions desirable and preferred. * Masters Degree in health care, administration, labor relations or other related field preferred.
