Nicor Advanced Energy is an unregulated subsidiary of Nicor, Inc. and a sister company of Nicor Services. Nicor Advanced Energy offers energy-related billing services that can help protect customers from volatile energy prices. Its Lock 12 plan provides 12 equal monthly payments for residential and small commercial customers’ natural gas bills, regardless of changes in gas prices or weather.

 

The Program Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager of Nicor Advanced Energy. This person must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects/assignments at a given time and function in an ever-changing environment.  This position will provide day to day operational support including report monitoring and error resolution.  This position will also be a liaison to the Call Center and will provide guidance, monitoring and reporting of and be the point of contact for formal customer inquiries.  The Program Coordinator is part of the front office operations team.

Position Responsibilities:Analyze the output of various daily/weekly/monthly operations control exception reports*, troubleshoot issues and define the action plan to determine the scope of the problem, how to fix the problem, and how to prevent it from happening in the future (*exception reports typically relate to contract enrollments, cancellations, renewals, billings, adjustments, etc. of existing product and service offerings)Interact with system programmers for system issue resolution purposesDocument and maintain policies and standard operating procedures for established and new operational requirements and processesPrimary point of contact to track, monitor and report the status of formal customer inquiriesReview, approve and report on customer adjustmentsBecome Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the energy platformLiaison to the Call Center for providing information on new programs and product launches as well as updates relating to system/program issuesOver-see and analyze contract enrollments,  enrollment processes and enrollment channelsAssist with ad hoc projectsOther duties as assignedPotential supervision of a staff of one or two people

 

Position Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent1 – 3 years of experienceStrong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skillsSelf-starter, that needs minimal directionQuick learner that thrives in a challenging, dynamic, fast paced work environmentStrong ability to multi-task and prioritizeStrong organization skillsDemonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel and WordExcellent written and oral communication skills

 

Position Preferences:Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and internal controlsEnergy industry knowledgeSupervision experienceMicrosoft Access preferred
