Portfolio Manager for Quality & Risk Management

Location:US-NJ-Secaucus Job Number:SEC0001U Employee Status : Regular Job Type :Experienced Schedule : Full-time Description The Portfolio Manager for the Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) Portfolio directs the operational activities of programming, systems analysis, and software development within assigned area(s) of responsibility. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the client area's functions and systems, application program development alternatives, and system development life cycles. Hands-on resource with a proven track record in delivering complex global systems to large clients. Must have a proven track record of delivering solutions in Microsoft .net technologies. Experience should include managing delivery as well as managing client relationships. Prior experience in developing and implementing a custom software solutions Quality & Risk Management with a global organization is considered a key differentiator. ResponsibilitiesDirect the continual upgrading of procedures and equipment to maintain currency with technological progress, economic change and business needs. Recommend annual budgets and manage expenditures in order to operate within approved budget guidelines. Direct all phases of the system development and implementation process, including the analysis, design, development, testing, and ongoing support for the client area's application systems. Ensure that the implementation of projects is consistent with Information Technology (IT) plans and installation standards. Consult with functional management in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommend innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements, hardware, and software on the client area(s) applications and systems. Ensure effective policies and procedures are developed and maintained for the organization. Evaluate and report on the impact of changes across multiple applications. Coordinate application development activities of project team's leaders. Ensure the training and development of staff members to develop their skills and maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in their area of responsibility. Direct staff members directly or indirectly in the development, implementation, and support of applications to meet the client's business requirements. Be responsible for the selection and performance management of staff members. Maintain strategic view of business and technical direction. Work with project functional sponsors to develop and manage the technical project roadmap and associated risks. Serve as Global IT face to the customer (Internal). Offer guidance to customer on direction, size and scope of delivery efforts. Manage a team of technical resources in the design, development and delivery of services to the client. Ensure application development teams understand and utilize Global IT's development methodology and processes; Develop and manage a product release strategy that is aligned with the clients business needs; Work closely with other organizations within Global IT to ensure the delivery of testing, operational, security and other project related activities;P2D To qualify, candidates must have: an advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience approximately 10-12 years of work experience in systems analysis and application program development Strong Interpersonal Skills Communications (written/verbal) Negotiation (clients, vendors) Ability to work effectively across organizational and geographical boundaries Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage a team to deliverable completion Global deployment experience Technical Skills Required: Custom Development Experience (using .Net and Java (a plus but not required)) Good understanding of global infrastructure workings (networking, authentication strategies, information security, application performance considerations, directory services) Full application life cycle experience Experience in solution design for intranet, internet and extranet applications
