MEETING PLANNERÂ
Job DescriptionÂ
Manages meeting planning on assigned accounts. Full lifecycle management of all
aspects of events. Duties will include: searching, negotiating, planning and coordination of events, meetings, and conferences. Must have a positive attitude
and strong financial accumen. This is a highly visible position that interfaces with
leadership in all aspects of the business. The Meeting Planner must be able to
represent the company well in a wide range of situations and be able to maintain
confidential information. Must be willing to travel.
Responsibilites Communicate with a diverse range of individuals at all levels of business Manage projects from inception through to completion and oversee multiple projects concurrently Identify, resolve, and follow up on issues Manage shifting priorities and maintain demeanor in high intensity situations Establish priorities and manage projects with minimal direction Build strong working relationships with clients, vendors, peers Maintain confidential material at all levels Search and locate event sites, overnight accommodations, catering, transportation, recreational events, entertainment Prepare expense budgets and negotiate contracts with vendors Develop and distribute itineraries, manage event timelines, staff, AV Attend events or assigns local event planners and assures outstanding service is provided Budgeting for events Â
Requirements Strong interpersonal skills, good judgement Excellent oral and written communication skills Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in hotel or events industry Meeting planning and proven budget management abilities Project management experience Excellent organization and documentation skills (Word, Excel) In-depth knowledge of the hotel, travel, meetings business
