Medical Business Office - Manager Patient Accounts Receivable – Full Time 40 hours per week

 

Our large multi-specialty group, in South Orange County, was formed in 1970 and has grown to over a 52-physician specialty practice. 

 

The Business Office is responsible for assuring that all physician related charges are posted and claims submitted in a timely manner.  The Medical Business Office Manager – Accounts Receivable will be part of a team that manages a 63 million dollar annual accounts receivable that generates over 33 million dollars in net cash receipts.

 

We are in need of a Manager with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or

7 years experience in a leadership role in a physician office, medical center or hospital business office environment.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of multiple insurance lines of business including government plans such as Medicare, MediCal and Champus.  Additionally, the candidate must have knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD9 codes, as well as an understanding of HCFA 1500 and UB92 claim forms. Must have experience with the use of Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PDF files, etc. Experience with NextGen billing system a plus.

 

The position is responsible for managing Accounts Receivable and supervising the Business Office Collector staff, assuring that all submitted claims are processed and paid within the set contractual time frames established with our third party payers. Other responsibilities include: analyzes accounts receivable and establishes processes as needed, uses collection management reports to keep accounts receivable current, follows guidelines of collection guidelines and refers to collection agency with physician approval, supervises denial reports and tasks, maintains and reviews staff daily productivity quotas, supervises heavy in-bound and out-bound correspondence, corresponds with interdepartmental administrative and clinical staff, and other duties or assignments as directed by the Director of Business Operations.
