Location:US-NY-New York Job Number:00I23 Employee Status : Regular Job Type :Experienced Schedule : Full-time Description The Media Planning and Marketing Management Supervising Associate supports all of the media planning and buying activities and marketing research for Americas Communications and Marketing (ACM). This position manages day to day adjustments of media investments and holdings; budgets; changes in firm strategy and their implications to the media holdings; support in the development of marketing plans in support of various firm go-to-market activities; and management of outside marketing research agency activities. ResponsibilitiesManage the marketing research agency on research projects including, but not limited to, Recruiting and Lifelong Relationships, industry and Transaction Advisory Services. Work with and manage the advertising agency personnel in developing go-to-market media plans for industry, service line and recruitment specific media campaigns based upon and utilizing marketing data, research and cost considerations. Work with the Marketing Services Leader, manage the execution and ongoing maintenance of all media plans, determining which adjustments are necessary to reflect changes in marketing strategies, business conditions and vendors. Provide support for ad-hoc media requests. Manage the reporting of advertising budgets. Work with agencies to reconcile all budgets/billing discrepancies. Constantly monitor the advertising and media external marketplace for opportunities to highlight Ernst & Young's products and services. Stay informed of changes, issues and opportunities in the New Media/Technology arena, and present and provide updates to Marketing Services Leader, as appropriate. Problem Analysis: Forming an opinion or making a decision through careful testing of assumptions and facts; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences. Relationship Building: Generating alliances internally and externally by continuously identifying and acting on those things that will create success for Ernst & Young and ACM. Consensus Building and Conflict Resolution: Exploring alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain all parties' support and acceptance; striving for outcomes that are a win-win for all parties involved. Media Strategy: A strong basis of understanding of the media landscape, achieved through related external experience, and/or formal field of study and/or knowledge gained through previous training at Ernst & Young. Ability to use strategic thinking skills and to translate marketing/brand strategies into effective and efficient media strategies, while working with the Marketing Services Leader. Media Planning: Knowledge of and ability to use media planning mechanics, as well as media analysis tools/resources (e.g. MRI, MMR, BPAWW, ABC, Nielsen, Arbitron, etc.). Marketing Research Application: Must begin to learn the various marketing research tools available, and their appropriate applications. Agency Management: Ability to manage agencies to ensure goals are met within budget. Budget Management: Ability to manage and reconcile multiple budget lines. Supervisory skills including but not limited to delegating, coaching, defining expectations, etc. Able to manage many different non-direct reports to drive to desired outcome of marketing program, e.g., agencies, Center for Business Knowledge, other Ernst & Young resources. This position reports to the Marketing Services Leader. No current supervision responsibilities exist, though this may change in the future. Willingness to work extra hours as necessary to accomplish assigned activities. To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree is required, preferably with some level of study in the scientific method of analysis; statistics; writing -- i.e. a balance of mathematics/science with an expressive field of study (e.g., writing, literature, music, etc.), since all types of critical thinking are required an MBA is a plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in advertising/media planning/media planning or media sales business-to-business or financial services experience a plus
