Measurement Associate
National Board of Medical ExaminersMeasurement Associate The NBME, a premier not-for-profit corporation, develops licensure and educational achievement examinations for the health professions and has a major commitment to research and development in evaluation and measurement. Located in Philadelphia adjacent to the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, the NBME has a stimulating professional environment and state-of-the art facilities. We are currently seeking a Measurement Associate to join our team. The Measurement Associate is responsible for planning and designing analytic procedures; providing technical support for operational activities, including data base access, data manipulation, and general statistical analyses. The individual also will be actively involved in research for publication and/or presentation. The qualified individual will be able to Work independently to plan and design analytic procedures related to program/exam development, field testing, start-up and exam processing Mine and manipulate data in preparation for statistical analysis, using software packages such as SQL, SPSS, SAS, etc Conduct sophisticated statistical analyses related to in-house program/operational initiatives and external client requests, often using specialized software such as ATA, Bilog, Bigsteps, etc Create new programs and procedures for scoring, score equating and score reporting for R&D start up projects; Develop documents utilized for internal decision and policy making Actively conduct research for publication and/or presentation to committees and professional meetings Provide technical guidance for less experienced technicians Requirements include: The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience in a professional work environment. Advanced experience using computer applications for querying databases and manipulating data (SQL, OBDC, ACCESS, Excel, etc.). Proficient with use of Statistical software (SPSS, SAS, BILOG, Bigsteps, SIBTEST,etc.) and experience with Item Response theory (IRT) and Classical Test Theory.
