We are currently have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer to join our Rancho Santa Marguarita team! From this key position, you will help develop design solutions that communicate, inform, and persuade an audience in both print and electronic media.
Responsibilities will include:
Ø Conceptualize, design & produce promotional materials such as flyers, ads, brochures, logos, mailers, office signage, exhibits, displays, and on-going design of company websites, promos etc. using a range of media, methods, techniques & equipment.
Ø Analyize graphic layout and photographic requirements & procedures; analyze and interpret user graphic requirements; develop print and/or reproduction specifications.
Ø Design & produce camera-ready art including graphs, charts, clip art, posters, and digitization of graphics, line-art &photos.
Ø Create electronically-designed page layouts and import word processing files into page layouts, as appropriate to the position. Knowledge of graphic layout & photographic requirements & procedures.
Ø Coordinate the printing production process to ensure quality: write printing and other reproduction specifications (selects ink, paper, and print quality); inspect proofs for accuracy; recommend contractors (typesetters, printers, illustrators, photographers).
Ø Develop and produce web-based graphics, web pages/sites, and HTML email campaigns.
Ø Determine size & content of illustrative material & copy, recommend style & size of type, arranges layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
Ø Coordinates a graphics/photographic library and maintains digital records, writes & edits basic copy in the completion of media projects.
Skills/ Requirements:
Ø BA/BS in Communications with emphasis in Art, Graphic Design
Ø Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design, excellent hands-on skills in InDesign, FreeHand, Illustrator and Photoshop (knowledge of QuarkXPress desired but not required), Dreamweaver and Flash.
Ø Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate (both orally and in writing) with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse organization.
Ø Knowledge of printing and/or reproduction processes and techniques.
